Tomb of Dark Vices

Tomb of Dark Vices is both a mausoleum and a temple to my relationship with alcohol. This peace represents the ties that bound me around drinking and the carbon memories of what once was a dark vice. During the creation of this piece, I bought, emptied and placed 17 beer cans as a rite of confirmation for my 2 years of sobriety.
The constraints and vices are mixed in with sand representing the primordial emotional element that we all hold, where it buries and covers elements that we need to manage. The frame that wraps around the piece represents the management of that emotion or situation, which I leave open at the bottom as it is in constant check.

Tomb of Dark Vices es tanto un mausoleo como un templo a mi relación con el alcohol. Esta paz representa los lazos que me ataban a la bebida y las memorias carbonizadas de lo que una vez fue un vicio oscuro. Durante la creación de esta pieza, compré, vacié y coloqué 17 latas de cerveza como un rito de confirmación de mis 2 años de sobriedad.
Las restricciones y los vicios se mezclan con la arena representando el elemento emocional primordial que todos guardamos, donde se entierran y cubren elementos que necesitamos gestionar. El marco que envuelve la pieza representa la gestión de esa emoción o situación, que dejo abierto en la parte inferior ya que está en constante verificación.
